question-markI am sure you agree that posting frequently is something important in blogging.

Why it’s important? Posting frequently adds more content to your blog on a steady rate and keeping it fresh. It also shows that your blog is alive, not dead yet. Once understanding your posting frequency, your visitors will also know when to visit your blog checking for new posts to read or comment.

So, how often should we publish new posts? I remember some good advices from successful bloggers which I adapt, check them out: [...]

blogger armsHello there!

Having one or two of them will help you enjoy blogging better. However, if you are serious about blogging and the popular idea of generating money from it, you must get all of them, no bargain. Why? twitter-clockUsing Twitter?

I recently experienced something strange while tweeting: I tweeted to the past like using a time machine.

At that time, my newest tweet went straight to the past, more specifically: a year ago. I knew it when I saw my Recent Tweets widget on the footer of my blog. I don’t really know what the cause was but it was quite weird and funny since a year ago I haven’t started using Twitter.

What You Can Do When Your Blog is Down

downHave you suffered from server downtime?

I just experienced my first one. I could not access my website, nor my WordPress Dashboard. When I asked my hosting support, they explained that my shared hosting server was attacked by a hacker. I guess it was some kind of DOS (denial of service) attack.

If you read this, then my server is up again. Update: not just up, it is relocated to a new server now because the old one still has issues, which messes with some of WP functionality.

Anyway, from this experience I learned a few positive things to do when our hosting server goes down: [...]

Why I Like WordPress Forum

wordpress-loveI love WordPress Forum, I really do.

I joined the famous forum about three weeks ago, as I followed my program of 31 Days to Build a Better Blog. I started by asking a few technical question there. I also broke the forum rules once because I was so newb ;-)

Afterward, I realized that there were so many people asking help there, and only a handful part-timer and volunteer helping. As WordPress is a free publishing platform that I enjoy much, I felt like returning the favor back to WP society. That’s why I am active there now. [...]

I recently tried to find some information about Barrack Obama, the phenomenal president of USA. And what Google suggested when I was writing “Obama is” on the search query was quite extra-ordinary.

promoting“How to promote my blog?” a friend of mine asked me on Facebook a while ago.

Are you wondering for the same question?

I gave my friend a few common promotion methods in my answer but I doubted that it would be any good for him. See, hundreds of promotion methods are useless, unless they work for you. Knowing fifty methods counts to nothing if you can’t make them work.

How to make them work? There are a few factors that make a blog promotion method works: [...]

buddiesHaving a new blog to grow?

Every blogger had a brand new blog once, when the content and traffic are still few. It is always a difficult time for a blogger.

Those with new blogs often feel discouraged seeing big and successful blogs out there. Their traffic is great, their designs are visually stunning, and they make money real good. New blogs seem small and unworthy in front of them, like having no ability and chance to compete.

This feeling is not positive to keep because it can tackle your constructive blogging progress. It has to stop one way or another. [...]
