frugal-themeDo you like my WordPress theme?

This WordPress theme I use is frugal theme (with lowercase ‘f’), which has three variants: frugal free, frugal premium, and frugal professional. I use the premium one. Eric Hamm, a nice and helpful professional web designer, crafted all of them.

By the time I write this, I just finished updating and modifying my frugal theme. Mostly small mods, but many. Now I can say that with my limited knowledge of web design / programming, I can get what I want from this theme, satisfactorily. [...]

inaccurateHi folks!

Do you like inaccurate titles? Do readers like inaccurate titles?  Does anyone like inaccurate titles?

I know I don’t, I hate them. Inaccurate titles tend to give readers some feeling of being deceived. It is not too good for business. Unfortunately, I met them many times lately on blogosphere and YouTube, two places where I hang out quite often. Why would I write this post anyway ;-)

However, with a case study, we can learn a few positive things from inaccurate titles: [...]

If you want to know the answer, check out this image below: [...]

Earlier today a friend of mine asked me about how to put Adsense and Analytics to WordPress, because he is about to start his first WP site. I also had the same concerns when I was to start this WordPress blog.

How Did You Become a Blogger?

Posted on 12. Sep, 2009 by Isaac Yassar.

howWe bloggers have different reasons and story why we are here and run a blog (or blogs), right? We can say that it’s a piece of history and partially destiny ;-)

First, let me share you my story of how I became a blogger. Early 2008, I had a cable internet connection plugged to my PC. At that time I used to hang out only on Friendster.com because my friends were there. At that time, I had no idea of what blogging was.

Then I met Blogger.com (blogspot) and thought that it would be exciting to create a blog as an online mark of my existence. I actually planned to leave it alone and not updating it regularly so I could visit it many years later as nostalgia. I was going to say something like “Oh, look at this blog. I created it when I was still young.” ;-) [...]

Subscribers Count, Show it or not?

Posted on 11. Sep, 2009 by Isaac Yassar.

subscribers-countWe think that blogs with more than 10K of FeedBurner subscribers are fancy ones, don’t we?

Those solid blogs usually show their subscribers count using FeedBurner FeedCount. Their success influences new bloggers, including this show off thing. I used to put a FeedCount on my blog because I thought it would be great to see my subscribers count grow (and show it off), just like those fancy blogs. But I had a change of heart.

Let’s discus about this (email) subscribers count from another point of view, shall we? [...]

trophyWhen seeing other blogs has the same topic as yours, do you question yourself things like who you are, what makes you worthy among others, and what your winning difference is?

If yes, you’re not alone.

In diaries, people feel unique, different, and winning because they become themselves there, not influenced from others at all. The same psychological state: original and free, holds important roles in defining our winning difference in writing on our blogs, the difference that leads us to blogging success and standing among other top bloggers.

The question is how to apply the state to find our winning difference in blogging? Here are a few ideas from me: [...]

The Secrets of Unique Blogging Voice

Posted on 07. Sep, 2009 by Isaac Yassar.

voiceMany bloggers think that unique blogging voice is one of the keys to success: a voice that is unique and different from the rest of the blogosphere.

Successful bloggers like Darren Rowse (problogger.net), Brian Clark (copyblogger.com), Jeremy Shoemaker (shoemoney.com), Yaro Starak (entrepreneurs-journey.com), John Chow (johnchow.com), etc, are all considered having unique blogging voices.

I think the idea is hyperbolic. [...]

Beware of Google Cash Scam

scamHello there!

Google is currently the number one search engine. People like it because it is very useful and loads extra fast, including me.

However, I am sad to see scammers use Google’s brand as a part of their scam. Making money posting links on Google or Google Cash Program is a scam. Many people have fallen victims. However, majority of the rests are still unaware of it. That’s why I write this. [...]
