My Secret Method of PR 4

Posted on 06. Dec, 2009 by Isaac Yassar in WordPress

top-secretHello there!

After I earned a pagerank of 4, some of my buddies asked me to share the methods I used to reach the pagerank. Well, I am actually not a blogger who thinks much of reaching higher pagerank, but I have one secret method in which I try to build my pagerank.

You see, the level of our pagerank depends on the votes of other websites in the internet via dofollow links (which are followed by search engine crawlers).

However, my secret method is not without effort, but the ‘price’ comes with a great ‘prize’. You can also use the method, but prepare to work hard because it’s a continuous effort.

Here is my secret method: Becoming a good member of WordPress Forum

Why it is so awesome for pagerank? Because WordPress forum can make my username a dofollow link to my site. So every post I wrote there contains a dofollow link of mine. And WordPress.org has a pagerank of 9. So every link of mine in the domain will be a great pagerank vote for my site.

However, there are some guidelines that we must follow in order to be a good member of the community. For example, WP Forum does not allow signature links. We are considered spamming if we do so. The forum will grant our names as our links automatically once we contribute enough good posts there (about 75). Becoming a value-contributing member is always wise.

Here is an image of the link that I am talking about:

isaacyassar

You can see that my username “isaacyassar” is light blue, it is a dofollow link to my blog (clickable). I’ve earned it. And you can see the other username “stylepeterson” is black, not blue. He is a new member, he hasn’t got his name as his link yet.

By the way, the hard work I mention earlier refers to the effort of becoming a good and active member who contributes value, and earning the dofollow link on the username. Contributing 75 posts without smelling like a spammer is a challenge. Plenty of people failed here, I warn you ;-)

For more information about WP Forum, you can read my post Why I Like WordPress Forum.

For more information about the basic of pagerank stuff, my friend Cristian wrote a nice post PageRank | Insites that SEO Marketers Must Know and Apply.

Alright folks, pretty awesome right? I learned about this method from my own experience, none taught me about it. Now I’ve shared with all of you, so feel free to try.

And if it helps you someday, don’t forget about me :D

Thanks Liane. This method somehow flashed in my head about three months ago, but I was unsure if it will work well. After getting my PR 4 I guess it works quite well then :-)

Hey, contributing 75 posts without smelling like a spammer is a real challenge and a must if you want to get page rank 4 too. I’d do almost “anything” for google juice, regardless the work, time, effort involved :)

It’s generous of you to share this idea. And I hope it will inspire more people to respond to questions posed there with meaningful answers. So often I’ve searched the forum, and got diddly – either way over my head, or “read the documentation first” (not helpful, if you’ve already done that).

I challenge you knowledgeable ones to go into the forum and respond to 75 unresolved issues with answers that code-challenged people can understand. You’d be performing a great service…and may you be blessed with a high page rank!

Yeah. There are so many unanswered threads in WP forum. Many people can’t get help. We need many more volunteers to give support there.

What about the Wordpress.com forums? It doesn’t require any “posting limit” in order to get a link on your profile name. Just put in your website url in your profile and start posting. Unless, of course, it adds nofollow attributes to the links then nvm.

You can check the page source to see if the link you got is dofollow or not. Since I’m not a user of wordpress.com, it will be strange for me to hang out there ;-)

    Awesome little secret Isaac.

I’ll be going over there soon to try this.

That also reminds me. The pages that your links are on would be very relevant. Relevant links = awesome :-)

I saw a comment which was moderated from the moderator in wordpress forum which stated “Do not post links twice or more than once for SEO. The links here are nofollow and won’t affect your rankings”

After posting 75 comments on threads, we get a link to our username, but is it dofollow for sure? I saw the page source and I wasn’t able to see any rel=”nofollow” or “dofollow”.

How can we check if the link is dofollow or nofollow?

Dofollow doesn’t really exist. So if you don’t see any rel=”nofollow” on the page source, then it is dofollow.

It’s a problem in the search index perhaps. Mine is too, but I’ve checked my first post on the forum (posted about 7months ago), and it’s still there, not deleted.
