My New Tagline: a Humble Approach
Posted on 12. Dec, 2009 by Isaac Yassar in Uncategorized
Hi buddy!
I just changed my tagline, you can see it on my animated header (if you can’t see it yet, perhaps you need to clear your browser cache). It’s a humble tagline, symbolizing my new humble approach.
My old tagline was “GoBlogger – Tips to Help Blogs Go Better”. It was a professional approach, based on the law of supply and demand. I produce good blogging tips, readers come to get it. That was how it was meant to work. Was.
My new humble tagline / approach is to state that in this site, I merely write my personal thoughts and opinions on blogging. That’s it.
I did it for some reasons:
1. Humility
It requires some knowledge to give tips about blogging. Tips are usually / normally given from the better experienced to the less. Claiming myself as a good tips writer is like boasting that I’m better experienced than others in blogging. I don’t feel good with it.
I don’t like to hear people talking big, so I don’t want to do it myself. Humility is better for me, I like it.
2. Friends
I love blogging. I enjoy writing articles and having some buddies around me. Now, I want to have more friends rather than more readers. Well, who am I to have a great number of readers, an expert? Not yet. But everybody can have plenty of friends.
A humble person makes more friends, I believe. And friends keep coming back and contribute comments on your blog
3. Proof of expertise
I don’t mind being an expert in what I do. But it needs learning, time, and proof, which gain trust from others. Boasting and self-claiming the expertise will only delay the process. Proof says louder than any boast / claim. So I got to prove myself and boast none.
Merely writing thoughts and opinions is a great way to prove myself to expertise. How come? If my thoughts and opinions are brilliant, people will think I am an expert without me requesting or claiming it.
4. Safety
If there is nothing special about my thoughts and opinion, it is OK. Wise person respects other people’s opinions no matter what, right? If someone disrespects my opinions, clearly I’m not the one with problems.
Humility also means I have no boast or claim to fulfill. I got nothing to lose. Safe, no matter what. That is how it works. Is.
5. Freedom
Thoughts and opinions are where humans have a right to be free. By writing them, I can have more freedom in my blog. I can direct it to anywhere I want. I set up my own limitations.
Regarding value, I am sure people can learn one or two things from good thoughts and opinions. They can also open up new thoughts and discussions as positive chain effects.
6. Uniqueness
Lots of bloggers already write about blogging tips. It’s too common. I want to be unique and different here on my blog. When it comes to thoughts and opinions, everyone is unique. Therefore, writing them makes my blog more unique. That is good.
7. Personality
The new approach suits my personality very well. I am naturally a simple and humble person. I don’t want much in life and I tend to be happy of what I already have.
I am not a type of ambitious businessman who always defines higher and higher goals to achieve. That’s not me and I don’t want to change myself.

Note: I’m still thinking about the best words to put on my new tagline, so it’s not final yet. It’ll be great to hear your suggestions

I really like the direction that you’re going with your blog. I am thinking of creating another blog where it’s more about my thoughts and opinions about blogging, social media and online marketing. Which will give more of the freedom that you speak of in my writing.
You can kind of write more for yourself but still include your readers because everyone that comes here is interested in blogging in a way. So great move! Will work out well for you and your readers as you will be one happy writer

As writers, freedom is a very important aspect of our activity. We got to find it one way or another

Hi buddy. It says “Thoughts and opinions on blogging, by Isaac Yassar”, quite the same with the one in my post. May be your browser still uses its cache to show the header image of my site. Clearing your cache should enable you to see the new header image.

Hi Isaac. Nice new tagline! Don’t forget to ask your readers to hit Ctrl + F5 to clear their browser cache or they will still see the old one.

Thanks Salman. I made it using Adobe ImageReady. It only has few frames for the transition of texts so it’s not too smooth. I plan to improve it later.
