Beware of Google Cash Scam
Posted on 06. Sep, 2009 by Isaac Yassar in Uncategorized
Hello there!
Google is currently the number one search engine. People like it because it is very useful and loads extra fast, including me.
However, I am sad to see scammers use Google’s brand as a part of their scam. Making money posting links on Google or Google Cash Program is a scam. Many people have fallen victims. However, majority of the rests are still unaware of it. That’s why I write this.
How it works?
The scam works by using do-what-I-do scheme. If you pay them some money like asked (via registration / subscription = monthly fee), they will (probably) give you the scripts to create the same scam site like theirs. I’ve seen two different domains with exactly the same texts and images promoting the scam, no editing at all. And their scam sites are visually not as good as other scam sites
However, scammers may have set up new hybrids of scam claiming as Google’s by now. Watch out for them. The only legitimate way to make money with Google is via Google Adsense, the famous advertising company for publishers.
How to protect yourself from the scam?
Simple. If you haven’t, please search for “google scam” or “google cash scam” (with or without the quotation mark) using Google. There will be plenty of results that uncover the truth behind it. Check them out.
I don’t link to the results because the idea is to use Google to unmask the scam claiming as Google’s. That is interesting

Hey Isaac, This is happening since long back! It started with the rise of Adsense, and as Adsense became more and more popular, people started creating different Scams from it!

Thanks for your kind words LetUpdate, Tech-Freak Stuff, and earningstep. Yes, it started long time ago. However, I still see people promote it on Twitter and other social media. That’s another reason why I write this post.

Thanks Kevin. Yeah, I saw some of those scammers on Twitter. After they tweeted about the scam, I replied “Have you ever googled for ‘google scam’?”

Yea, even you even need to watch our for the site that claim to not be scams. There is just so much of it. Know who you buy from and what your buying. Don’t belive the hype. I search for products with the word scam then I find sites doing review saying it is not a scam etc but their just selling the product.

I agree with you Jared. If a program sounds too good to be true then may be it is. We have to be extra careful nowadays.

I’d have to say 99% of the sites that I’ve seen that say “This is NOT A SCAM” usually end up being scams
Sites that are not a scam don’t normally bother pointing out the fact.

Good points Kevin and Chuck. Those scammers don’t need to defend themselves if they have nothing wrong with their programs. Gotta keep an eye for them.

That’s craptacular. I have never done a google search for the scams using their brand. However, I have heard recently that Google has been taking these companies to court for using their name. I use to see them in the adwords / adsense side bar on the google search page.
I know once I almost fell for one of those. After search the program I realized it was scam.
Good post and thanks for letting us know.

I’m embarrassed to say they caught me on a bad day and I was so close to being a victim. Fortunately I checked with a friend who wasn’t emotional but rational instead.
This information needs to be shared over and over again.

Kissie, I am too. I got caught with it too and usually I’m really good at seeing scams, don’t know why I feel for it. Yes I do, the link came from someone I respected on Twitter and had been following for a long time. Tried to cancel it when I realized what the heck it was, couldn’t get a hold of them of course, so ended up canceling my debit card and getting a new one.
Great warning post!
