Good day!
If you use WordPress and install it on a low bandwidth hosting account, you better be careful there. Why? Because your activity in running your website / blog, like writing posts, edit appearances, put widgets, coding stuff, etc, will use the bandwidth quote too.
You thought the bandwidth / transfer data quote is only for your visitors? Not really. Check this out, when you are in your WordPress dashboard, pay attention to the address bar of your browser. Where are you? That’s right lad, you are visiting your own site. Therefore you use the bandwidth as well.
Well, this matter actually depends a lot on the bandwidth quote you have per month from the servers. If your hosting account is a personal entry, usually your quote is pretty low. This kind of web hosting is usually very cheap and only for those new in the business.
So if your budget is limited, and cannot afford higher level of hosting service, you better not do what you don’t have to do in your site. Set everything once, and don’t play with it much afterward. Watch your images as well, since bigger images eat your bandwidth more. You don’t want this message of “Bandwidth limit reached!” greets your innocence visitors, do you?
However folks, this is not a big concern for those who have high / unlimited bandwidth quote. If you are included in that group, you are free to do everything you want in your site. You can even do stupid things like changing your theme everyday. Especially when your bandwidth is many, and your visitors are few
